The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has revised the SSC CHSL Tier 2 exam pattern and syllabus for 2025. SSC CHSL Skill Test for DEO / DEO Grade ‘A’ (Department/Ministry Specific):

Typing Speed Requirement: 15,000 key depressions per hour.
Test Duration: 15 minutes.
Passage Length: Around 3700–4000 key depressions.
Mode: Candidates have to enter the given text on a computer. The passage will either be provided in printed form or displayed on the screen.

This test is specifically for candidates applying for DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ in certain departments or ministries where higher typing efficiency is required.

SSC CHSL Skill Test for DEO / DEO Grade ‘A’ (Other Departments/Ministries):

Typing Speed Requirement: 8,000 key depressions per hour.
Test Duration: 15 minutes.
Passage Length: Around 2000–2200 key depressions.
Mode: Same process as above, where candidates type the given passage on the computer.

This version of the skill test applies to candidates in departments where the data entry workload is relatively lower.

SSC CHSL Minimum Qualifying Marks:

To ensure fairness, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has fixed minimum cut-off marks for different categories in Tier-I and Tier-II exams:

General (UR): 30%
OBC / EWS: 25%
All Other Categories (SC, ST, etc.): 20%

Candidates must secure at least these marks in Tier-I, Section-I, Section-II, and Module-I of Section-III of Tier-II Examination to move forward.
