Jee Advanced 2026 Exam Date Announced:
The schedule for the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2026 has been officially released by Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. According to the announcement, the exam will take place on Sunday, May 17, 2026. The test will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode at designated examination centres across the country.
The Joint Entrance Examination Advanced is considered one of the toughest entrance examinations in India. Each year, only the highest-scoring candidates from the Joint Entrance Examination Main qualify to appear for this stage of the exam.
Clearing the examination allows students to seek admission to several undergraduate programmes offered by the Indian Institutes of Technology. These programmes include Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Bachelor of Science (BS), dual degree options such as BTech–MTech, as well as integrated science and engineering courses.
Since the exam is conducted in CBT format, candidates will answer all questions directly on computers provided at their assigned examination centres. This format helps maintain a consistent and standardised testing process across the country.
Jee Advanced Exam Schedule:
As per the official timetable, the examination will consist of two compulsory papers held on the same day. Both papers will cover Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and candidates must appear for both sessions.
Paper 1: 09:00 AM – 12:00 PM (IST)
Paper 2: 02:30 PM – 05:30 PM (IST)
The two-paper structure is designed not only to assess conceptual understanding but also to measure analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. The entire exam will continue to be conducted on computers as part of the broader shift toward digital examination formats in national entrance tests.
